Join the Bailey Lab
We are building a collaborative and intellectually curious research environment focused on next-generation immunotherapies for solid tumors
TRAINING & MENTORSHIP
We believe strong science emerges from collaborative mentorship, intellectual curiosity, and scientific independence. Trainees in the lab are encouraged to develop both technical expertise and creative scientific thinking while contributing to translational research with direct clinical relevance.
We strive to create an environment that is supportive, ambitious, team-oriented, and driven by a shared goal of improving outcomes for patients with cancer.
OPPORTUNITIES
Undergraduate Students
Students interested in cancer immunology, engineering, or translational medicine are encouraged to reach out regarding research opportunities.
Graduate Students
We welcome graduate students interested in immunotherapy, tumor biology, and interdisciplinary cancer research. People interested in pursuing their PhD in our lab must first submit an application to the UVA Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program (https://med.virginia.edu/bims/).
Postdoctoral Fellows & Senior Scientists
We are interested in recruiting highly motivated postdoctoral fellows and/or senior scientists excited about developing innovative immunotherapies for solid tumors.
LAB ENVIRONMENT
Our lab values collaboration, creativity, and rigorous scientific thinking. We aim to foster an environment where trainees are empowered to ask bold questions, communicate openly, and grow as independent scientists. As an interdisciplinary group, we work across immunology, engineering, and cancer biology while maintaining a strong translational focus.
